Cornell earns first-career 4 State victory in season opener at Springfield Raceway

Kicking off his 2026 race season, Kaeden Cornell unloaded his newly-wrapped No. 50 machine at his home track of Springfield (Mo.) Raceway on Saturday afternoon for the 4 State Dirt Late Model Series season opener.

Setting the bar in his qualifying group, Cornell charged from fourth-to-first in his heat race which positioned him on the front-row for the evening's main event. However, a mechanical issues forced him pitside before the feature and he was put on the tail for the feature. Kaeden came storming through the field and went by Sawyer Crigler for the top spot with nine laps remaining. Cornell collected $1,200 for his efforts and secured his first series win.
